The 13th Health Services Research Conference in Brisbane, from 3-5 December 2024, offers a wide range of events specifically tailored for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and students. These sessions are designed to help you connect and learn from the experts.
Don’t miss these unique opportunities to connect, learn, and grow at HSRAANZ 2024!
1. Speed Mentoring session for ECRs
Join our Speed Mentoring session during lunch on Day 1, where you’ll have the chance to engage in brief, focused conversations with seasoned researchers and policy makers. This is a fantastic opportunity to spark connections that can extend throughout the conference. With topics spanning research design, grant writing, career advice, and more, an impressive lineup of mentors is ready to share insights with you.
2. 3 Minute Thesis Competition (3MT) for ECRs
Congratulations to everyone who entered the 3MT! This competition challenges participants to present their research in just three minutes using only one PowerPoint slide. This promises to be an entertaining and informative session, and is a great opportunity to get a brief overview of the research other ECRs are conducting. For those who have entered the competition (and those looking for a taste of what the session is all about), there are lots of useful resources on YouTube to help you put together a winning 3MT. For example, you may like this video or this one on YouTube to fine-tune your presentation.
3. ECR Dinner
On Tuesday, 3rd December, ECRs are invited to a casual evening of dinner and trivia at The Prince Consort (230 Wickham St, Fortitude Valley QLD) from 6:00 pm. Just a short walk from the conference venue (approx. 1km), this is a great chance to meet peers, make connections, and expand your networks while enjoying a lively evening. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
