AMH Is an Australian owned company that produces evidence-based independent medicines references specifically created for health care practitioners across Australia.
AMH Pty Ltd was founded in 1996 by the Australasian Society of Clinical and Experimental Pharmacologists and Toxicologists (ASCEPT), the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA). These three professional organisations have continued their ownership and involvement to the present day.
All content is researched and written by our staff editors, who are all pharmacists, and is subject to peer review by Australian experts and practising health professionals (specialists, general practitioners, nurses, pharmacists) to ensure it reflects contemporary Australian practice. We follow strict and robust editorial processes.
All products are available in book and online formats and are designed to assist the health care professional in the prescribing and dispensing of medicines.
Altus empowers higher education institutions to look beyond book smarts, and to identify and nurture exceptional professionals, by using unique data to generate meaningful insights for informed selection decisions. We do this through Altus Suite, made up of Casper and Snapshot – assessments that provide a clearer, more holistic view of applicants. Our assessments are used by over 380 academic partners in the US, Canada, Australia (and growing!) with 150,000+ applicants taking our assessments yearly, including 90% of Canadian and US medical school applicants. We also host a 3-day Admissions Summit, and power the Alo Grant, a $100,000 research fund, annually.
The Australian Medical Council (AMC) ensures that standards of education, training and assessment of the medical profession promote and protect the health of the Australian community. The AMC is the national accreditation authority for medicine. The AMC sets accreditation standards across all phases of the medical education continuum and accredits 23 Australian Universities for primary medical programs, 8 state-based intern training accreditation authorities, and 16 specialist colleges for specialist training programs. In addition, the AMC sets standards for and assesses international medical graduates seeking to practise in Australia, and accredits workplace-based assessment programs offered in Australian health services.
