Oral Presentation Guidelines

Oral Presentations

We appreciate your time and ask you read the instructions to ensure deadlines and expectations as an Oral Presenter are met. Please find below more details on requirements for presentations.

Key Dates for Oral Presenters:

  • Author Notification - June 2022
  • Speaker Withdrawal Deadline - 18 June 2022
  • Author Registration Deadline - 30 June 2022
  • Pre-recorded Presentation Deadline - 5 August 2022


Oral Presentation Instructions:

  • All Presenters are to register for their attendance at the conference by 30 June 2022.
  • Accepted Oral Presentations are 15 minutes (13 mins Presentation and 2 mins Q&A); 6 minutes for accepted student papers (5 mins presentation and 1 min Q&A – with a max of 7 slides) and 25 minutes for invited speaker presentations (with your choice if Q&A at the end of your presentation is required). 
  • Authors of accepted abstracts are asked to submit a pre-recorded presentation in advance of the in-person event in Narrabri. Pre-recorded presentations must not be any longer than the length allocated in the conference program. 
  • All Oral Presenters are to upload a pre-recorded version via the dropbox link below by 5 August 2022.
  • Prior to attending the in person Conference in Narrabri, checking the program is essential to confirm your allocated session and time.
  • Oral Presentations must not be any longer than the allocated time slot and the nominated chairperson will ensure the program stays on time.

PRIOR TO THE CONFERENCE

Presenter Registration 

All presenting authors must register by 30 June 2022. Please use the unique link sent to your nominated email. A presenter is deemed the nominated person/s who will present an oral paper.

Pre-recorded Oral Presentations 

  • We require a pre-recorded version of your presentation ahead of the in person event in Narrabri. 
  • Pre-recorded presentations are requested from all presenters and will be used in the event a presenter is unable to attend at late notice due to COVID restrictions
  • All presentations must be uploaded in MP4 format.
  • Pre-recorded Oral Presentations must not be any longer than the allocated time slot. You may be asked to re-record and re-submit to ensure presentation times are kept to the allocated timeslot.
  • You will not have the opportunity to make any edits once the file has been uploaded.


AT THE CONFERENCE

On Arrival

Preparing your Presentation for the Conference

Please refer to the program schedule to view the day and time of your presentation HERE. The program is subject to change, please ensure you download the most recent program.

Session Room

The session room will be equipped with a laptop, lectern and data projector. It is recommended that you use the venue laptop and play back devices.

If you must use your own laptop, please advise this office before 5 August 2022. Ensure you bring the appropriate adaptors.

The preferred method of presentation is via PowerPoint. PowerPoint presentations should be prepared in wide screen 16:9 (not standard 4:3 format). You must bring your presentation to the conference on USB Flash drive for it to be loaded by an audio visual technician in a speakers’ preparation area. Please have your presentation saved under your last/family name.

If you are using an embedded video as part of your presentation please advise the AV technician in advance of your talk so any necessary checks can be done well in advance to avoid any disruption during your presentation.


Presenter Registration

Presenters are requested to report to the registration desk on arrival. You will be directed to the speaker preparation area where your presentation will be uploaded and verified. All presenters are asked to ensure their presentation is uploaded with the AV Technician well in advance of their talk to avoid any problems when you present.
