On behalf of the AATE ALEA Conference Committee, we are delighted to announce details on Author Breakfast Presenters below. To participate, please select the Author Breakfast(s) you wish to attend on the registration form.

Attendance is strictly via bookings only through the registration form. 

Please note, tickets include breakfast and places are limited.

Fiona McIntosh

Fiona McIntosh is one of Australia’s favourite storytellers across various genres, appealing to readers of all ages. She hit the world stage through her popular fantasy novels that were translated into more than a dozen languages, and she is now known for her deeply researched historical adventures and crime dramas.

Her most recent is the hit crime, Dead Tide, released in January 2023 and set in South Australia, which opened in the National Top 10 and instantly became the #1 bestselling Australian fiction title in its first week. The fourth in her Jack Hawksworth series, it held the top position for three consecutive weeks. The newest, Foul Play, was published in January this year.

Fiona is also a writer of blockbuster historical fiction and her latest historical, The Sugar Palace, set in Sydney during the 1920s, was released in October 2023, and walked straight into the Top 10. In 2025 Penguin will publish her first infant’s picture book and this will join her other children's novels for 7-8 and 9–11-year-olds.

Fiona hosts one of the country’s most successful writing masterclasses that is highly regarded by the publishing industry and is responsible for some of the newest and most popular authors in the country. Her Masterclass debuted in the UK in the second half of 2024 and was filled within days of release.



Sean Williams

Sean Williams is a #1 New York Times-bestselling, multi-award-winning author of over sixty books and one hundred and twenty shorter publications for readers of all ages. 

His long list of works includes original series, novels (some of them set in the Star Wars universe), short stories, and poems that have been translated into multiple languages for readers around the world. His most recent books include Uncanny Angles and Honour Among Ghosts.

Sean is Discipline Lead of Creative Writing at Flinders University, and is also a composer of music and scores for stage and screen.

He lives on Kaurna Country (Adelaide) in South Australia.
