After-hours tour
Discover how nature returned to Wellington while
you walk with our expert guides and be part of a world-first conservation
story. Tune into birdsong and spot species that are often very well-camouflaged
and hard to find.
Date: Wednesday 2 December
Start Time: 6:30pm
Duration: 2 hours
Tour Cost: $75 AU per person
Tour Transportation Cost: $15 AU per person
After-hours Tour Note:
Zealandia After-hours Tour crosses over with the HSRAANZ Welcome Reception, programmed to take place at the conference venue on Wed, 2 December at 5.00pm - 7.00pm.
After-hours Departure Details:
After-hours tour group to meet in the lobby of Tākina Convention Centre, and a member of the organising committee will walk delegates and family to the bus stop across the road. Delegates and family will return to Tākina Convention Centre and can make their way back to their accommodation.
Twilight tour
Venture into the sanctuary just before sunset to
hear the dusk chorus, as the day birds sign off and the night ones wake up. The
last part of the tour is walked in darkness by torchlight searching for
nocturnal species.

Duration: 2.5 hours
Tour Cost: $95 AU per person
Tour Transportation Cost: $15 AU per person

Twilight tour group to meet in the lobby of Tākina Convention Centre, and a member of the organising committee will walk delegates and family to the bus stop across the road. Delegates and family will return to Tākina Convention Centre and can make their way back to their accommodation.
Māori Hidden Treasures Walk
On the Te Aro Pā – Hidden Māori Treasures Cultural Walking Tour, you will uncover the fascinating stories behind the city, including viewing the archaeological remains of a whareponga and learning about the people who once lived at the Pā and their journey to Wellington. You will also gain exclusive access to a non‑public excavation site as you discover Wellington’s hidden Māori treasures.

We will be offering three walks throughout the day – morning, midday and afternoon.

Times: morning / midday / afternoon (times tbc)
Duration: 2 hours
Cost: $35 AU per person
Treasures Walk Note: the that all scheduled Hidden Māori Treasures Cultural Walking Tours coincide with parallel sessions at the HSRAANZ Conference Program – if you sign up now, we will come back to you and request your preferred tour time slot after the full conference programme is released.
Treasures Walk Departure Details: Hidden Māori Treasures Cultural Walking Tour group to meet in the lobby of Tākina Convention Centre, and a member of the organising committee will walk delegates and family to the start of the walk. The tour will conclude near Tākina Convention Centre, in which attendees will be able to walk themselves back.
HOW TO REGISTER
The option to purchase a tour ticket will be displayed after you have selected a registration type on the registration form.
Already registered for the Conference? Please refer to the link in your registration confirmation email to gain access back into your registration to make amendments.
All tour prices are in Australian Dollars and are inclusive of 15% NZ GST.
TOUR NOTES:
All tours and are subject to minimum and maximum numbers.
Should any of the tours not meet the minimum numbers, delegates will be advised and receive a full refund (for tour fee only).
Guest tickets are permitted, however, the minimum age for all tours is five (5) years old, and any individuals aged under seventeen (17) years must be accompanied by an adult.
