Fabien Hyafil, MD, PhD, FESC, is Senior Consultant in the department of Nuclear Medicine of Bichat Hospital in Paris. He earned a Medical Degree in the School of Medicine of Paris Descartes and is board certified in Cardiology and Nuclear Medicine. Dr Hyafil completed a residency atAssistance-Publique Hôpitaux de Paris and then moved to New York for a two-year research fellowship on atherosclerosis imaging in the Imaging Science Laboratories of Prof. Fayad at Mount Sinai Hospital. He went back to Paris for a Fellowship in Cardiology in the department of Prof. Vahanian followed by a Fellowship in Nuclear Medicine in the department of Prof. Le Guludec at Bichat Hospital. In 2013, Dr. Hyafil joined the department of Nuclear Medecine of Prof. Schwaiger at Klinikum rechts der Isar in Munich and worked at developing new cardiovascular applications for PET-MRI. Since 2015, he is working in the department of Nuclear Medicine of Bichat hospital as Senior Consultant in charge of Nuclear Cardiology. He is Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, member of the Regulatory Affairs Committee of the ESC, vice-Chair of the Cardiovascular Committee of EANM and member of the Scientific Program Committee of the EANM Congress. His main fields of research are atherosclerosis imaging, myocardial perfusion with SPECT and PET imaging, hybrid PET-CT and MR imaging and cardiac infection imaging.
