Dr Bill MacDonald

Dr Bill Macdonald is a nuclear medicine physician from Perth.  A graduate of the University of Western Australia, he initially trained in paediatrics before pursuing further training in nuclear medicine.  Since completing his nuclear medicine training, he has worked primarily in the public sector where he has maintained an active interest in radionuclide therapy and cancer imaging.   He currently works in the Molecular Imaging and Therapy Service, a dual-campus facility at Fiona Stanley and Royal Perth Hospitals, where he regularly treats patients with thyroid, neuroendocrine, lymphatic and prostate cancers and reports both diagnostic and theranostic PET/CT scans, and is actively engaged in clinical research.  He has previously served as President of the AANMS, including at the time of the MSAC application for MBS funding of FDG PET in breast cancer, and was Chair of the Nuclear Medicine Working Group during the recent MBS (Medicare) Review.
