We warmly welcome you to ANZAHPE 2026 - Weaving Connection, to be held in Ōtautahi Christchurch, Aotearoa New Zealand, from 29 June to 2 July 2026.
We acknowledge and honour Ngāi Tūāhuriri, of Ngāi Tahu, as mana whenua of this region, and we recognise the deep cultural, historical, and ongoing significance of this place.
Our theme, Weaving Connection, reflects the importance of collaboration and shared purpose in health professions education. This is beautifully captured in the Māori whakataukī:
“Nau te rourou, naku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi.”
With your food basket and my food basket, the people will thrive.
This whakataukī reminds us that while working in isolation might allow us to survive, it is through cooperation, partnership, and genuine connection that we move beyond survival and towards shared wellbeing, innovation, and prosperity.
ANZAHPE 2026 invites us to bring our knowledge, our experiences, and our unique contributions together - to weave a stronger, more connected future for health professions education.

Healthcare systems worldwide face mounting pressures from workforce shortages, climate-related health impacts, and persistent inequities, demanding bold, collaborative solutions. The choices we make today will not only shape the next generation of health professionals but also determine how we deliver compassionate, culturally responsive, and technologically enabled care for decades to come.
